What you need

Minecraft: Java Edition (not Bedrock)
CurseForge app or Prism Launcher
8 GB RAM allocated to the game (more if you use shaders)
Headphones recommended — horde audio is part of the experience

Step by step

Install a modded launcher

CurseForge or Prism both work.

Download CurseForge or Prism Launcher. DeceasedCraft is a Forge pack — your launcher needs to support Forge modpack imports.

Get the modpack

Official DeceasedCraft or our custom profile.

Install DeceasedCraft from CurseForge for Minecraft 1.20.1. When ready, our Doodooflames zip will bundle the same experience plus server-tuned extras.

Allocate RAM

8 GB recommended.

Set profile memory to at least 8 GB. Zombie packs with many entities and structures are heavier than vanilla — underrunning RAM causes stutters when hordes spawn.

First launch

Let mods download completely.

Launch the profile and wait for all mods to download. First boot is slow. Reach the main menu before joining multiplayer.

Join the server

Direct Connection to deceased.doodooflames.lol

Multiplayer → Direct Connection → deceased.doodooflames.lol. Most players connect without a port. If that fails, try deceased.doodooflames.lol:1001 as a fallback.

Survive your first night

Loot, shelter, weapons.

Don't treat this like vanilla Minecraft. Cities and nights are lethal early. Grab food and weapons, find or build shelter before dark, and coordinate with other players on loot runs.

Troubleshooting

Wrong Minecraft version

Server runs 1.20.1 Forge. Match your profile exactly.

Can't connect

Check the status page first. Try deceased.doodooflames.lol, then deceased.doodooflames.lol:1001. Turn off VPN if connection times out.

Mod mismatch on join

Use the official pack or the Doodooflames zip — don't add random mods without checking with ops.

Server rules

Mark or claim bases — don't bulldoze someone else's fort.
Don't steal from marked stashes.
Coordinate POI loot runs so groups aren't griefing each other by accident.
No dupes or game-breaking exploits.
Ask ops before requesting rollbacks for quest/progression locks.
